In Arthurian terms, the Eagle is the Messenger of Arthur Returned. Arthur is the Living Archetype now at the vanguard of responsible Libertarian change. Arthur is also Grail King. The Eagle brings to Shaston the deepest Immortal Powers of the Grail and also new patterns for social harmony and justice. The Wand at Shaston is able to direct these forces into channels that outflow through major earth sites so that a physical New Jerusalem is created. 1989 marked the beginning of this process at Shaftesbury. The Active Working of this Shaston Wand plays a vital role in planetary evolution at least until the year 2065 A.D. By that time, the planet will have arrived at a stable and established Paradise State, where the true Foundations of Immortal Life and Joy have been successfully laid. There will be much to develop after 2065, but the crucial shift into pure Aquarian frequencies will be complete and clear by then.
The annual Byzant Ritual at Shaston has always been dedicated to the bringing of Water to the town. This water supply was a problem until recent times. The location of Shaston high atop its greensand spur and without any water creates a unique situation not found in any other British town. Such conditions are reflective of the unique spiritual function that is now operative at Shaftesbury. Now the Waters of Greater Life for the World are to be invoked here.
The timing of the Ritual has shifted from one Holy Date to another through the centuries, but has been disconnected from any auspicious Day during its recent modern revival. We need to unite the Wand Ritual to Holy Days once again. Both May Day and the First Day of Rogation are part of the old history of the Byzant. We were fortunate in 1989, because these two dates coincided, one pagan and one Christian. The three Days of Rogation are the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday leading to Ascension Day, Holy Thursday. They are powerful days for prayer and purification that prepare and lead you into the Magick of Ascension Day, a high energy Celebration of Immortality that is destined to become more widely observed in the New Age. In 1980, I wrote a long invocation for the three Rogation days, Ascension, and Pentecost. Here is a passage from “Rogation One”, for the First Day:
The Planetary Will focused in the Shaston Wand is as ancient as Creation. Bless the Birth of the Divine True Will throughout the Sacred Space and Holy Time of this Universe! The quoted passage above contains the total essence of this Shaftesbury Vision...
Other good times for the Byzant Ritual would be primarily concentrated during the 3 months of springtime: The spring equinox, any culminating full moon, Easter Sunrise, Ascension Day, Pentecost, the summer solstice and true midnight on Midsummer Night's Eve. Special events, (such as the Pluto Perihelion passage on 5th September, 1989) could inspire Wand Rituals at Shaston any time of the year. And, as the function of the Wand now becomes Global, any religious Holy day of any religion, any new or full moon, any major outer planet conjunction may become the occasion for energising the Divine Will at Shaston.
I also recommend Jewish Holy Days, and find them filled with great Magickal Power. All Jewish Holy Days begin at sunset on the first date listed and continue to sunset on the following day.
Let me remind the reader again of the international focus on Table Mountain in South Africa on 13-14 November 1989. This celebrated the 3rd and final Saturn-Neptune conjunction and connected with Shaston. The Image of the Grail united with the Wand of Divine Will was the Key Archetype for all three of these 1989 Saturn-Neptune Conjunctions in Capricorn. The Glaston-Shaston formula was at the centre of all activities in '89. (One should consult a professional astrologer to be sure of the exact times of all astronomical events. Here are general rules: The 2 hours just after a new moon, and the 2 hours just before the exact time of the full moon are best for invocation. For a solstice or equinox, the exact time and the first hours immediately after are the best. I have noticed in recent years how often groups get this wrong. The best sunrise for the Stonehenge Summer solstice is the one after the point of the solstice, for this sunrise is the First within the Fresh Domain of Cancer. The Archangel of the Summer Solstice, Uriel - the living Spirit of Truth - does not connect with a sunrise until the Sun is truly in Cancer. 90% of the time, people at Stonehenge get this wrong).
At the present time I intuitively feel that the best times for the Shaston Byzant Ritual are the spring equinox, Easter Sunrise, the Wesak Full Moon, May Day, Ascension Day, Pentecost, and the Summer solstice. Events and activities over the next few years shall more clearly define the timing of this event. Raphael, the Archangel of the Sun, rules the spring equinox and is the Magus of the Wand. Uriel, the Archangel of Uranus, rules the summer solstice and is the Magus of the Holy Grail. The 13 weeks from Wand to Grail is the most auspicious annual period for the Working of this Glaston-Shaston Magick. For those of you unfamiliar with my use of the word ''Magick'' I offer this definition: Magick is the Art of Creating greater Life, Love, Light, and Liberty by manifesting the Divine True Will through every Being... All true Magickal Creation is a Perfect balanced Fusion of the above 4 Qualities. The Magickian is devoted to the total respect for, illumination of, and liberation of the True Will of every Being in the Universe...
To conclude this passage on the timing of the Byzant Ritual, I would like to draw the astrologically minded reader's attention to certain exact connections between the Omega Point Event of Easter 1984 at Glaston and the 1989 Omega Sphere events at Shaston.
A. The May Day 1989 Pluto position exactly conjuncted the Easter 1984 Saturn position in the 13th degree of Scorpio. This means the Grail aspect of the '84 event was more broadly and globally illuminated by Divine Will in 1989.
B. Also, the Easter '84 Jupiter position exactly conjuncted both Saturn and Neptune on May Day 1989; and was also within a 2 degree conjunct orb with all 3 Saturn-Neptune conjunctions in '89. This is a very fortunate connection which suggests that the tremendous spiritual abundance latent within the Omega Point of the 1984 event was released to the world during 1989 through the combined efforts of all beings of Good Will.
C. The Jupiter position on May Day '89 was conjunct to 1 degree the Easter '84 North Node. Again this connection suggests that the expansive events of '89 deeply manifested and clarified the event of '84.
D. The other major connection is this: At the 5th September '89 Pluto Perihelion Passage, the position of Uranus on that day exactly conjuncted the Easter '84 Neptune position in the 1st degree of Capricorn. Thus this 5 September event gave us a Prophetic look at the great Uranus-Neptune conjunctions of 1993, and their direct relationship to both the '84 and '89 events.
It should be noted that on Sept. 5, the Pluto position, as on May Day, again was exact with the Saturn '84 position. This made the 1989 Pluto Perihelion Event one of the most powerful planetary events in my memory. The Glaston-Shaston events of 1989 provided a great opportunity for the building of a firm foundation from which to enter the 1990's. Oh Let the Power of Immortal Love flourish forever and ever upon this earth!
One ancient custom connected with the Byzant ritual is worthy of revival: The couple most recently married prior to the Wand Procession are asked to lead the walk to the site of Invocation. Of course, this alchemical couple should reside at Shaftesbury, or certainly within the orb of the Eagle described in this book.
It is also appropriate to Work the Grail-Wand Rituals at all of the various power points, or sacred sites, described in this book as locales within the greater Body of the Eagle surrounding Shaston.
One could devote a year to communing with and activating all of the major sites within the landscape Temple of the Shaston Eagle. If this is done, it is very useful to keep a spiritual diary which records all positive Revelations and experiences derived from your Communion with the Eagle. In your explorations, you may discover additional sites of Magick within the orb of this Prophecy. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who discovers new information which expands and strengthens the Message of this book.

How do we work with a sacred site? Pray to be guided to the locations where you shall be of maximum use to the Illumination of every True Will and to the Creation of Lasting Peace upon earth. Study the spiritual traditions associated with the locale. Purify and strengthen your Body, Spirit, and Mind so that you can function with Grace and Strength while engaged in Planetary Activation and Healing.
Be clear about your purpose in the Earth Magick Work you are doing. Choose, if possible, an auspicious time and reason for being at a specific site. This book is an example of this process. If you feel inspired, go to Shaston for the purpose of activating the Wand and calling the Eagle & the Grail for the Creation of Paradise on Earth!
You've arrived at your power point, Now what? The basic concept for a Celestial Alchemist working at a sacred site is very simple in theory. Through deep, circular breathing and focused attention, generate as much Light-filled, Joyous Gratitude as possible outwards from your Heart towards all Beings. When you feel you have created a very peaceful, highly-charged atmosphere; then invoke verbally, with all your Strength of Being, the Living Spirit of Truth... Then begin to creatively develop a fourfold cyclic pattern of:
Repeat this cycle over and over until you have completed the invocational Work that is appropriate for the occasion. One session of such Global 'Acupuncture' may last anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours. Try to creatively integrate the energies of Joyous Thanksgiving, the New Aeon Word of Immortality, and the Image of the Grail into as much of your work as is possible. Practice makes Perfection; and Persistence leads to Victory! Every individual global healer can add their own unique creative elements onto the above very basic dynamic structure. Dance, music, poetry, incense, jewels, etc. can be woven in. Do not copy someone else's ritual - the best Invocations are inspired by the Living Forces of the Moment.
The best Invocational Magick is similar to Jazz improvisation, or surrealist art: The great Artist or Magus has mastered all the basic elements of the Art and is able to spontaneously create Works of unique Beauty. No creation is ever the same as another. The forces at Work in any situation are unique. Life is Magick; Life is Art.
Please don't feel that you missed out on anything that might have happened at Shaftesbury during 1989. The Working of the Planetary Will through the Wand at Shaston is an important activity to perform throughout this Aeon. And this is a Way of Global Healing that can be practiced by any being who loves Life and this earth. This work at Shaston does not depend upon one person for either its success or failure!
