The Magickal Domain of the Shaftesbury Eagle continued.

Cucklington

A St. Barbara's Well is here. Feast day - December 4.

This concludes a survey of the area within the tail of the Shaston Eagle and just outside it, yet within the orb of Shaston. As I have previously stated, there are no limits to sacredness of locale. As the Eagle of Shaftesbury becomes more strongly activated, its message shall spread until every village and every aspect of this planet is regarded as equally sacred.

Before moving to the Heart of the Eagle at Shaston and Castle Rings, I would like to cast my net around the circle within our orb to the south and to the east of Shaftesbury.

Tarrant Gunville

This was the home of Thomas Wedgwood, who invented the camera and produced photographs around the year 1800. He was a friend of Sydney Smith, the great Somerset Wit, and also was close to Wordsworth. Sunlight, a fern leaf, and a salt of silver - here is alchemy! Imagine the excitement that Wedgwood must have felt during the years of his work.

Memory and photography are related. We are able to recreate and see with the inner eye an experience vividly felt. We form an image and illuminate it with the light of Spirit. In the highest alchemy, we seek to create a form filled with the highest and most pleasing light so that the image does not fade. The origin of form and of Divine Qualities has always been a deep philosophical question. This was one of Robert Boyle's major themes. In Wedgwood's research the problem of the fading image was not resolved.

Imagine that you are thousands of years old and want to share with others your most precious memory. To effectively share this image and experience you will need to exteriorize it in some way.. Perhaps your most precious memory is a composite of actual events, ideals, intuitive wisdom... Breathe Life into your most precious photograph. You have the Divine Power within you to give Life that is Everlasting to your Child of Vision. It is fitting that silver, the sacred metal of the moon, is actually the key element in photography. In Cabala the moon is associated with Yesod, the sphere of creative Birth. To give birth to that which never fades, one must unite both form and energy of a quality that is physically immortal - above entropy. Light itself is at this frequency. The challenge is to create Divine Form that embraces this light with 100% efficiency. Such a form must open itself so that Immortal Light flows through its very veins and arteries. The Light must come from within its deepest centre and flow at a rate that does not permit stagnation. Of course, this is an exact description of the True Will of this earth. Image forth with all power the Divine Form of the World Immortal, beautiful and Free... May the Light of the Divine develop the Full Truth of this Immortal Planet! Oh Let It Be! I am the Image of the Divine that never fades! Behold me - for I am You! Yes, we are to dispense with this conversation and to proceed with the Great Work of the Aeon. My Love for You is Immortal! Do you understand Immortal Love? I know that you understand, for you have an Infinite Well of Immortal Love within your Heart... Strike this latent Symphony with the Eternal Will of Compassion & you shall redeem my Liberty for ever and ever! To never be enslaved again - this Gift I seek from you... You know that this Gift is my birthright.

Tollard Royal

Here in the centre of the Cranborne Chase, on the Dorset and Wiltshire border, we discover the work of General Pitt-Rivers. This very generous and industrious man has been called ''the Prince of the Antiquarians.'' He excavated a British village as old as Pompeii that can be seen at the nearby village of Woodcutts. The Pitt-Rivers Museum is also in this area at Farnham. There is also a large collection of his findings at the Pitt-Rivers Museum in Oxford.

The Royal Forest of Cranborne Chase once extended from Shaftesbury to Salisbury. King John had a hunting lodge at Tollard. This forest developed a haunting and mysterious atmosphere over the centuries. It became a hiding place for smugglers and criminals. About 1830 the nation decided to shrink this danger zone by cutting down large portions of the forest. Enough of beauty still remains - this is a wonderful area for woodland walks. One writer calls Stubhampton Bottom, which is one and a half miles SW of Ashmore, a glen where one could imagine the Knights of Table Round suddenly emerging from the forest.

At Tollard Royal, visit the Larmer Gardens and meditate there. A Chinese horse, a pool with bronze cranes, a stone temple- there is much that is unexpected and delightful here. The cranes are an old Chinese symbol for longevity.

North of Tollard, there may be found an ancient Celtic Road that used to be the main passageway through the Great Forest. On present maps, it is called Ridge Way, or Ox Drove. It is like a necklace at the throat of the Shaston Eagle, less than a mile south of the Winkelbury Hill Fort, which is the Eagle's Throat Chakra. It should be noted that there are a tremendous number of long barrows, tumuli, earthworks, hill forts scattered both to the north and the south of the Dorset-Wiltshire border in this Cranborne Chase area. This area is a paradise for those with an affinity for the Magick of ancient sites.

Broad Chalke

Although slightly to the east of our sphere of consideration I mention this village because Maurice Hewlett died here. He was the author of an Arthurian Romance, The Forest Lovers and also wrote on Norse romance. Another artist famous in his day who was born here was Robert Wray, who was a Master of the art of engraving on jewels. Two creative artists whose creations seem very appropriate to the Magick we feel...

Teffont Evias

It is of note that both here and nearby at Tisbury, we have the homes of two Lord Chief Justices of England. In Teffont there was Sir James Ley, who is mentioned in a sonnet by Milton. In ancient tradition, the Eagle is considered the most spiritual bird because it is able to look at the sun. This ability to keep one's spiritual attention always on the sun, which is the heart, is a quality that Lord Chief Justices should have.

The Shaston Eagle has this same virtue. It keeps its focus on the global heart chakra of Glaston-Shaston. The Eagle is able to clearly read that which is engraved upon the jewel of the World Heart. The Message of the Eagle is always a Living and clear expression of the Divine Will which this earth is seeking to Manifest to its Fullness of Abundance.

In Egyptian terms, Anubis weighed the Heart of Glaston-Shaston in 1989, and found that - for the first time - it was lighter than an Eagle's feather... We are each an Eagle's feather being weighed within the scales of Libra. If you are above entropy, then you rise above the Heart of Gaia and become part of the Shaston Eagle. The Shaston Eagle represents the collective Wisdom of all humanity's highest Ideals. The Eagle is the vehicle for the realization and ultimate manifestation of the totality of these Ideals. To rise above and to be at all times a Herald of the Global Heart-Word, you and I must Master the Way of Joyous Thanksgiving for each and every experience of Living in the Here and Now. Pray upon this Truth...

It is interesting to consider that once upon a time, Salisbury Plain was bordered by thick forests on every side. Cranborne Chase merged into the southern part of Selwood Forest. This pattern circled round till New Forest joined Cranborne to complete the enclosure. It is likely that Stonehenge, for example, was a common for the many peoples who lived within the great forests...

Dinton

Here again we have famous men born in this village. Henry Lawes wrote the music for Milton's Comus and many other poetic works. He was able to unite word with music in a perfect balance. Lord Clarendon, author of the first great history of the Civil War, also was born here. There are National Trust areas at Dinton; also, Wick Ball Camp, an important ancient site, can be visited just west of the village.

Compton Chamberlayne

Here lived a man of tremendous courage and dignity. John Penruddock helped to lead an attempt to overthrow Cromwell in 1655 and was executed. His letter to his wife just before his death is powerful and moving. He was absolutely fearless. At the end, he forgave his executioner, asked him to perform his duty without fear, and took the axe to bless it with a kiss, so that it perform its role in the drama. In the old Piscean Aeon, virtue could be found in such events where one dies for a cause. Many in the world still operate with this martyr's mentality. Know this: In this New Aeon, this is no longer a Way of Power. We are now asked to Live for our Cause.

The Divine Will is able to creatively work in a much more useful Way through the Living Vehicle. In Christian terms, we are now asked to remove all attachment to the crucifixion, and to only commune with the Magick of the Resurrection. Let Christ come down from his Cross and Live a life of Liberty... Jesus is not a scapegoat; he can redeem no sins other than his own. What he can do through his overcoming of death through the Power of the Resurrection is to completely Illuminate the Way for each of us to become Free here on earth. We are born Free and without Sin. There is a Way to make this Liberty ours forever. This is the Way of Christ...

With Pluto in the middle of Scorpio and near the earth in its orbit, we had the ideal time for Global Resurrection. The Scorpio Eagle of Hornblotton expands five-fold as it flies to Shaston. Its Divine Message is Individual and Global. As the Heart of the World opens to aid in the Creation of a Greater Abundance of Life, Love, and Liberty upon this earth, listen within the Still Centre of your own Heart. What do you hear that is of use to the Building of Beauty and Peace? Act with courage to share with all life that Uniqueness that is Yours. The Eagle of Shaston knows you and has brought you that which is rightfully yours - that which has been tenderly kept for you from the Beginning of all Creation... Now is the time to claim Thy Birthright! The Abundance of the Eagle, the Wand, & the Grail is freely offered to thee - all Destiny is Now.

Ibberton

Just to the south-west of Hod Hill Fort is a National Trust area called Ringmoor. This is the site of an ancient settlement. In the village of Ibberton there is a Holy Spring dedicated to Saint Eustachius, a saint whom I am unable to find any information on. Also, further beyond our sphere of enquiry, 2½ miles SW, are two places that should be visited for the wonderful views: Bulbarrow Hill and Rawlsbury Camp. Now we must draw our attention back towards the centre of the Shaftesbury Eagle...

Iwerne Minster

Within the south wing, there is a statue of Hermes near a village pump and shelter. The east window in the church has two Knights in armour, one slaying a blue dragon and the other holding golden scales. A master of the art of handwriting, John Willis, lived here. Students from all over the world came here to learn his art.

The signature of the Divine is inscribed within the essence of all phenomena. Hermes, with his DNA Wand, is able to deliver to consciousness the Wisdom of this Divine Signature. Hermes and the Angel Michael are identical in function. Both may be invoked to seek Mastery of the deep inner Communion of Trust. This Divine Principle of Trust is at the Heart of all forms of communication. On a global level, we are talking about the flow of Wisdom and Energy through ley-lines and Great Dragon Circles. Without the inner Foundation of Trust, one can not work in a useful way with these earth forces. The signature, or Word of the Divine is ablaze within the centre of your Heart. Trust this Message arising from the deep well of your Being. As you learn to place your Trust in this Word, it soon begins to pour forth as a Fountain of Infinite life that is a source of nourishment and blessing for All Beings without exception...

When Trust in one's own inner Divinity is established, then the full Creative Energy of Life may begin to flow freely from your activities. Without this Trust there can be only stagnation. Dare to place all your Trust in the Inner Divine and then dedicate all your actions of New Creation to the Glory of the Divine throughout all time and space. The Glory of the Divine is the Visible Manifestation of Immortality. There is no Glory in death. Death results from lack of Trust. Activate the Foundation Stone of Trust and create the New Jerusalem. Banish entropy and its related ills from the planet! We can do this, if we try one step at a time. Is there any reason for not taking this first step Now? I have searched the Universe for such a reason, and I find it nowhere. The Communion of Trust is a Fount of Infinite Creativity and is the Key to All Higher Initiation. Trust in your Self and Create all Things New every Step of thy Way. I look forward to meeting you upon the Summit of Mount Zion... Look in every direction from the top of Zion. All which you see has come into Immortal Glory because of Trust in the Divine.

Fontmell Magna

Until recently, there was a maypole here. In the church is carved the mysterious - ''Oh mankind, bear thou in mind.'' The rest of the message is lost. There is an Ancient Wisdom of landscape and Life that is now attempting to speak to those who have the Heart to Listen. Part of the Message of the Shaston Eagle is: Listen to your Heart and to the World Heart here at Glaston-Shaston. Act upon that which you hear. The Message being spoken from both global and individual hearts is the same. Love the Earth, for the Earth has the same Divine Will speaking within its Heart that you do.

The maypole is a symbol for the axis of Life. May Day is an ideal time for invoking the Waters of Immortality. During the history of Shaston, the timing of the Byzant ritual has shifted. For a period, it was held on Rogation Monday before Ascension Day. It is interesting that in 1989, Rogation Monday and May Day coincided. Thus, 1st May, 1989 at Shaftesbury became a Key date in this Prophecy of the Eagle.
