Surprise no1

Once we met up with my Aunt, Uncle and Grandad I was shown a ticket which meant I was going on the main circuit in a yellow
Audi TT. I couldn't believe my luck, I was going to do what I'd always dreamed of. I was shaking from shock as I waited
for the car to pull in and told that I was going to be driven round by a former F1 driver in the 70s. As they knew it was
my birthday on Tuesday they decided to give me an extra lap which made it 4 instead of the standard 3.

Once in the car I was told to hold onto the handle if I needed to and that except the fact that they overtake on the left
it was exactly the same as standard driving. Driving round so fast (100mph on the straight) was so exciting for me and a
great experience. The driver then took me round a 5th time on a slower lap to cool the brakes down as "they had only been
fitted that morning and needed wearing in.". Mum 'attempted' to film the experience but most was missed as the car was going
so fast.

The brief details

As it is my 18th birthday on Tuesday (12/11/02) my parents decided to treat me to a day at Brands Hatch due to the fact that
I'm a bit of a car fanatic.

Surprise no2

After the first experience we went to the restaurant where I thought we were just going to eat and I watched others come and
go from a rally track. It was then I was taken suddenly to an office and was told we had to wait for Rich. Once he arrived
I was told I was told he was going to drive me round the rally track and do 3 laps. This experience was great as there was
plenty of speed, wet and muddy road, puddles and lots of skidding. As the the track was very short it went quick and my Mum
only got there in time to film from the end of the second lap but the footage is great.

Beginning

The whole thing started on Friday 8th November when I was convinced by my parents that we were going on a "family day out".
This "family day out" consisted of apparently going to a fishing gear show at Brands Hatch. This I spent ages (that night
and the following morning) complaing about the fact that it was 'supposed to be a family day out and yet we were doing something
that only Dad likes to do'. I got excited that night at the possibility of seeing the track and maybe a few cars there only
to be brought down to disappointment by my Dad saying "There probably won't be any cars there and they won't let you see the
track.".

After an hour journey to Brands Hatch I arrived to find lots of silver Audi TT's storming round the track. I thought it was
cool enough watching cars racing round but as soon as my Uncle, Aunt and Grandad appeared I knew something was going on...
