THEN

Larbert Station, northbound platform. This elaborate construction has been replaced by a tiny waiting room, with no cover over the platform.

Middle: Busy times during the steam era.

A local claim was that Larbert had the 'longest platform in Europe'. Now much shortened, the station requires more careful upkeep.

Lower: Larbert Cross, looking south.

Right upper: Main Street, around 1900.

Lower: the Lido, Larbert East Church in the background, left.

Above

The Dobbie Hall prior to World War One. Easily recognised, the edifice on the roof has been removed since this photograph was taken.
The Carron Dams are now all but empty of water……...and swans!
Originally constructed to supply water to the Carron Iron Works via the Mill Lade from the River Carron, the run down of iron founding in the Larbert area has rendered the Dams redundant.
'The Point' in Stenhousemuir, now minus the trees, but very much the same today as in this 'twenties photograph.
Of the four in the montage, this scene through the Viaduct is least changed.
