Workshops
Graeae offers a wide ranging programme of specially devised workshops aimed at schools, voluntary sector organisations, youth clubs and community centres.
Presented as one day workshops, term based projects or as on-going programmes spanning an academic year, these projects offer an introduction for young people to participate in and gain access to the arts.
These programmes are individually designed to meet the particular needs of the group. Many groups use the workshop experience as a springboard to devising their own programmes of work.
Theatre In Education (TIE)
Graeae's educational programmes are available to schools and residential centres nationally.
We present performances and participatory workshops to audiences and in settings which may not normally have access to theatre and live performance.
Our work aims to combat negative images of disabled people through active participation, offering a new insight and perspective on the position and status of disabled people in our society.
EDUCATION WORKSHOPS RUNNING ALONGSIDE GEORGE DANDIN
In today’s society where we always want more than we have and are obsessed with status and the
lives of those who ‘have it all’ is the grass really greener on the other side?
Graeae will be offering workshops, led by the actors, alongside this production of George Dandin. Two types of workshops are on offer; one is text/theme specific and will explore the content of the production; class, equality and discrimination, opening these out into the wider context of today’s society. The other workshop can explore the physical and farcical elements in this interpretation of the play, its relation to clowning and comedia del arte. Workshops can be booked by schools and venues and can be tailored to meet specific requirements.
