Kiss 106 is one of the very few Pirate stations after the 1980's government clampdown that stood out from the others because of all those presenters on it. Thanks to the hard work of Paul and John we would never have had such a station. Just look at what ex-KISS presenters are doing today. Part time prestenter Ollie Brady is now the PD of Tipp fm!! (Irish legal satation). Thats just one of many examples, Its rare that EVERY jock on one station goes on to something big... but they all did and that includes not only National Radio but International Radio!! Its said that you had to be there in 1999 to feel the atmosphere ! Just guess on what it must have been like? It was as close as you ever got to the old days in the 1980's. GREG RECALS: Getting up at 3:30am wasn't much fun compared to doing the gig even though I didn't know I had a station to go to never mind a job. I remember doing Breakfast one day finding myself Off-Air in just a few minutes because of a raid! Then you get the usual phone calls from listeners apart from your boss wanting to know why you are off. Its a long story as I am sure all the guys would say with their own story to tell. When you are kicking ass with the lads along side you (and you know it) it is a great feeling. But it was living life with risk and on the edge and there is nothing that beats the buzz of that sort of excitement.

ABOVE: Kiss 106 played in many clubs all over Northern Ireland. Here we see one of the promotion posters. _______________________________________________________________________________ BELOW: The daytime play-clock. This shows what a presenter had to do and at whatever given moment in time every hour. Everything can be seen from when he linked ( spoke ) to his listeners to what kinds of music had to be played. 'A' Songs were new to 3 months old, 'B' Songs were 3 to 6 months old, 'C' Songs were 6 months to one year old, 'D' Songs were one to three or more years old, 'G' Songs were 80's tracks and the only 'F' song ( after the bottom of the hour) would be a power song = "love song" The Kiss fm jock would only link ( or speak ) to his listeners five times every hour excluding his weather link after the top of the hour news. This has not changed much with Greg to this day as you can be sure to hear him link at approximately these times on Q102 as he did in the Energy days in the early 90's and ATLANTIC 252 and so on. 7 minutes past the hour, 17 minutes past, 26 minutes, 36 minutes and 56 minutes past the hour.
