FRIDAY 24 August 2001... The next GRIEF SOCIETY gig has been confirmed today. We'll be playing the K-Live Music and Arts Festival in Kettering (Northamptonshire) on Sunday 2 September 2001. The festival takes place between 2pm and 8pm at Wicksteed Park, Kettering. Nobody seems to know what time we're onstage but I'm sure it will be a blast. We've got a good track record at festivals. Everytime we go onstage it rains. (Only kidding!) Seeya at K-Live, maybe TUESDAY 21 AUGUST 2001... Rehearsals continue in blistering heat. In addition to working on the set for the next block of gigs we're also working on some extra tracks for a possible single. There's a new song called 'Eye To Eye' which is shaping up nicely. We've recorded an acoustic version but I thought we should have a crack at a full band version. After three hours locked in a room together we seem to have cracked it. Look out for 'Eye to Eye' in the next block of gigs, it's a killer!! MONDAY 3 AUGUST 2001... Another review of our second album, 'Universal Misunderstainding', appears today and its a good one! Although the album hasn't received an official US release yet, those nice people at CD Baby are stocking it and seem to be shifting some copies. A few promotional copies have gone out to US magazinesm radio stations and websites in advance of the official release. The latest review to appear in the US is from the Globalmuse.com (a great little website). Reviewer Michael Allison says: "The music is a straight ahead rock groove that incorporates intelligent lyrics and an over all upbeat aura. The music seems to be more of a happy feeiling, even when the song has lyrics that aren't. This is feel good rock." ..I think we've been rumbled...
