Like many other enthusiasts out there, after almost a decade of restoring vintage amplifiers and building my own, I am starting to sell a limited few hand-built valve amplifiers a year. I'm tentatively badging them as "Griffon", and the first model - the Griffon 20/20 - has just come off the drawing board.

You can find out more about the Griffon 20/20 on its dedicated page, but suffice it to say that it's a very serious amplifier indeed: a 20W stereo KT66 amplifier with transformer-coupling, a fully-regulated power supply, and finished in polished stainless steel. Each one will be built to order, so a degree of customisation is possible (such as the use of 807 beam tetrodes or a polished copper chassis).

My range of amplifiers so far includes:
bullet6L6 acousticals, the original monoblocs which served to prove the concepts used in the later Griffon 20/20.
bulletGriffon 20/20, a transformer-coupled, push-pull stereo amplifier using KT66s. It also features a fully-regulated power supply.
bulletGriffon 10/10, a design still on the drawing board for a stereo 10W single-ended EL34 amplifier with a similar design philosophy to the 20/20.
bulletGriffon 10PP, a 10W monobloc 6AS7G design with its own internal regulated power supply. So far, only one pair of prototypes exist.
bulletPre-amplifiers, so far including prototype SRPP and cathode followers using 6SN7s, 6J5s, and VR150s.
bulletAll-valve Theremin, of which I am currently building a pre-production prototype.

Please e-mail me at griffon@ntlworld.com if you're interested in auditioning one of these amplifiers! They're available for demonstration in the Frankfurt/Heidelberg area of Germany and in London, England.
