Over the years, I've been amassing a little collection of valve amplifiers and the like. I'm taking the opportunity to showcase these here, but also to give a bit more background information to the companies and designs involved.

bulletAbout loudspeakers is a little about the different, and amazingly varied, loudspeakers from times past and present.
bulletQuad is one of my favourite hi-fi companies of all time, so here is a mini-product portfolio.
bulletThe Williamson amplifier is a classic and I'm most fond of them.
bulletSome other amplifiers from my collection, made by Rogers, the BBC, Pamphonic, and the like.

My fascination with valves started when I bought a pair of Quad II amplifiers. I must confess that in those days, I had little idea of what I was letting myself in for - as the sound quality was a huge eye opener for an audiophile who'd grown up on solid-state black boxes.

Before long, I'd tracked down a set of transformers and had tried my hand at the GEC 30W design for KT66s (see below)!
