Here is the start of a patch database that I want to make the biggest ZOOM GFX4 Patch database around. I've looked hard and there just isn't a decent enough collection of patch settings. Mind you, the built in patches themselves are pretty good and would cover most rock bands but some bands need you to tweak the settings and some use two or more patches in a song (for example, Metallica's Enter Sandman has a clean intro for 8 bars and then kicks in with the distortion. The SMOOTH preset patch works fine for these 8 bars and the distortion patch needs to be set very carefully.

I've also included the names that I am using for these.

JOE SATRIANI  (JOEWAH)

Fabulous for tracks like SUMMER SONG . For a track like Crying though, we need something more mellow

VAN HALEN  (VANTOP)

Great sound for 'Standing on top of the world'

STRYPER   (THEWAY)

A good replica of the sound in the song 'THE WAY'

METALLICA   (SNDMAN)

Specially for Enter Sandman (this needs a lot of working on. It still sounds terribly fuzzy)

IRON MAIDEN   (IRON1)

This basically just uses the preset JAZZOD and I have changed the AMP SIMULATOR to C6. It sounds fine for songs like 'The Trooper'. However songs like 'Number of the Beast' will need something with more Phaser and flanger for their intros and this is also the case for 2 Minutes to Midnight and 'The Evil that men do'. However, the best thing about Maiden is that most of the songs are very similar from the guitar sound point of view (and of course they write everything in Em, but that's a different story) , so I think with 2 patches we should be able to cover quite a few tracks.
