Case Study: Corpex
 

Given only £30,000 to cover internal staff, consultants and web developers, Project Manager, Steve Miller, was assigned to develop a consistent theme for the web sites in the three European territories.

Corpex is a business internet services company offering hosting, domain name registration, e-commerce and anti-virus solutions to SMEs in

Corpex already had web sites in Germany and the UK which differed from each other, so the opening of a new French office provided the opportunity to set a theme consistent in all three countries. In order to accommodate any cultural differences, consulting with each of the country managers was essential and indeed revealed several key points, which may otherwise have gone unnoticed. Had Corpex not addressed these issues from the outset, the result may well have been some loss of business. Once the framework had been established, a plan was drawn up and copy produced in three languages and then incorporated into the template laid out by the communication between the country managers.

The final websites were built in PHP – a language acceptable to all technical teams in the respective countries. Furthermore, management tools based on ‘Simple Text’ templates were issued to each country manager in order that the individual marketing departments update each site when necessary rather than have to enlist the help of the technical staff in order to make changes. The result of this is a consistent web presence, which was delivered on time and within budget.
