Its members include university lecturers, students, clergy, and people from many walks of life who are just interested in the subject. Some talks and papers are given by visiting speakers, others by members of the conference. There is also ample opportunity for discussion within a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Subjects are taken from branches of philosophy related to religion (such as ethics, philosophy of human nature, natural theology) and from areas of a more general philosophical interest (eg. logic, epistemology, history of philosophy).
Mostly because they value the stimulus of discussion with fellow-enthusiasts, and appreciate the fact that debating is carried out in a manner which, even when critical, is always positive and helpful.
