harsh!!

just now had a very close look at  'Ganpati Visarjan'  festival.GREAT.
SUPERBLY captured. when you say last does it mean 05. if so why so late.

I am not at all fond of crowds and as such miss any such festivals etc
from near. this time (last week of September 06) I was at Mumbai and
was watching these processions from flat window. I liked the grand show.
So colourful. The  amazing zeal of people was worth all the praise.

Thanks for giving me the luxury of watching the great show so superbly
shot and from such a height. Good show. pl keep the good work on. all the best.

Thanks for writing! The pictures were taken this year only, and if you had informed me
that you were here I would arranged to take you there! Crowds are a bit bearable but it's
the noise that gets me, and we have enough (TOO MUCH) of that during all such festivals.

Stunning photos especialy where the fore and back ground are included.
The Ganpatis going to the sea are great too BUT look too press oriented.
Super tele and camera tho!!
You must have really sweated it out to get the shots! Congrats!

Thanks for the comments Vispy!

I did not have any press coverage in mind while taking the pictures but if you know
of some who may be interested, do let me know!  :-)

The sea-going pictures were taken to show the sea of humanity and the end of the
journey of the idol.  In the vertical shot while the lower part shows the hectic activity,
in contrast; the upper one has the almost tranquil look of a shoreline.

Thanks again,
Harsh

Thanks for sharing...I could almost hear the noise and feel the heat!
Some of them seem really huge!

Luckily, at that height the noise level was very tolerable, almost like the
normal Mumbai traffic! ;-)

Thanks for your comments!

Thanks a million for sharing!  The picture give a true image of the actual
happening, and the Statue is enormous!  I had seen this ceremony when
I was only 12 years old, when I was in Bombay......ages back!! But our
Gunapati at home, was a small statue and I was absolutely taken up
with the worship- had never seen this before,  as in Malta this is not done.

The way you have captured the happening makes you feel part of it - gr8 job!
