Hethersett at the Millennium
HETHERSETT CARNIVAL AND FETE SATURDAY 24TH JUNE
Previous Next

Overcast skies and two brief rain showers, one before the carnival parade set off, and one towards the end of the fete, did little to affect the enjoyment of all who took part or came out to give their support. It is estimated that between 1,500 and 2,000 people attended the carnival and fete and several hundreds of pounds were raised to go towards a lasting Hethersett Millennium memorial.

THE CARNIVAL

The carnival parade formed up in New Road.

Shortly after 1.00pm, Hethersett's crier, John Adams and the City of Norwich Pipe Band led off the procession. The route followed was Mill Road, Great Melton Road and via the Village centre to Henstead Road and Back Land, before dispersing at the Village Hall.
