The commemorative stained glass panel commissioned by the Hethersett Millennium Committee from Norwich artist Karim Yasamee, of Handmade Glass, is now complete. The presentation to the Village is on Thursday 13 December 2001, at 7.15pm, in Hethersett library. All who have helped the Millennium Committee in the various events over the past two years are invited to attend. The permanent home for the panel will be the library, where in the future it can be seen during opening hours. The panel incorporates the distinctive Hethersett Millennium logo and six etched images characteristic of Hethersett and the millennium. These include the village sign, Kett's Oak, the logos of the local schools and the millennium resolution. The 1-metre square panel is installed in a light box made by local craftsman and Hethersett resident, Varnam Lightowler The picture shows artist Karim putting the finishing touches to the commemorative panel.
