| Hit or Miss resident DJs Stuart Paterson and Weekend Steve play a wide ranging choice of tunes from soul to disco to house to rock to indie and back to soul again.
Starting life as a soul and funk night with a few surprises thrown
in at the Nambucca, Holloway Road, H.O.M. quickly mutated into a musical free for all with the
kitchen sink thrown in for good measure. Wanting to go beyond the
limited of the traditional decks and mixer set up Steve started
bringing his laptop along to mix tunes together in a "how
did he do that?" kind of way - Stuart soon followed suit. Then they started booking
bands and the night grew from strength to strength with acts as
diverse as V-Twin, CCQ, Camp
Actor and the Fighting Cocks playing blinding
sets. Guest DJs were invited down leading to the legendary night
when Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake took control
behind the decks. Not ones to rest on their laurels the boys quickly
got other gigs at venues such as Brixton's Club Jamm
and The Castle in Notting Hill where they
brought the house down at carnival.
The lads then moved the genre-defying night to The Abbey in Kentish Town where they brought the weekend noise for 18 months followed by a sixth month stint at North West London's premier music venue, The Good Ship in Kilburn.
Steve has been spreading the word with his critically acclaimed night (and taste-making, world-renowned blog) Allez-Allez at venues all around the capital, UK and Europe.
