The Weakest Link has arrived in Asia! TVB has bought 108 Weakest Link episodes from BBC to against Who Wants To Be A Millionaire of ATV. The show was screened on 20 Aug 2001 until mid-Jan and hosted by famous actress Carol Cheng Yue Ling (as known as Dodo Cheng). 8 contestants could win up to HKD$3 million (That's a huge money), even more than WWTBAM of HKD$1 million. Dodo in the first 5 episodes was unkind to the contestants. The Weakest Link has low ratings in the first week because Dodo was really unkind. People in Hong Kong wanted to relax after work for the whole day and watching TV for leisure. So, TVB has decided to change the style of the game a little bit. They let Dodo smile and audience to clap hands or laugh. The show was successful, it can beat WWTBAM after this change.
Host: Carol Cheng
TVB has chosen Dodo as the host because Dodo was famous and only she could be the host of The Weakest Link. She was in TVB since 1970s, and she was now 45 years old. Dodo has two nice Pomeranians and she loved them very much.
