Gorsty Bank views castles and walks |
||||
|
Gorsty Bank is an old stone farmhouse situated on the edge of Bircher Common in a rural farming area.
Views from the house and garden are South over the rolling Herefordshire countryside as far as the Black Mountains and North across the common. Adjacent is Croft Castle Estate owned by the National Trust. The castle grounds, woods and the common together make 1400 acres of beautiful walking country - all outside the gate of Gorsty Bank. |

There are many lovely walks, such as Fishpool Valley - a series of pools flowing gently through a wooded valley, or across the common to Croft Ambrey an iron age fort with superb views over Wales and stunning sunsets.
Herefordshire is an unspoilt county largely undiscovered, its quiet roads lead to beautiful black and white villages, orchards, hopfields, cider farms and old market towns.
Gorsty Bank is well away from main roads and access is along a track across the common. Next door is a working farm which has sheep grazing on the common. Also grazed on the common are horses, ducks and pigs which pass by the house most days. | ||||
