Well, it's that time of year again - Panto time. Oh, yes it is! It is the time when, for a few brief hours, you suspend belief in reality and accept that the young men may in fact be girls, the Dame is really a man in a frock and everyone lives happily ever after.
The version of Cinderella we are presenting this year is described as The True Story. Whether this is so is a moot point but it certainly has some variations on the more usual versions. The changes are - well, I won't spoil the surprises, but I am sure you will spot them as the show unfolds.
This is the first occasion I have worked with Holybourne Theatre and I would like to pay tribute to all of them for the hard work they have put into the show. Although small in number they have worked tirelessly for many months either as actors, dancers, musicians, props, scenery designers and painters, costumes, lighting/sound technicians or - in many cases - in more than one capacity. It has been an interesting and rewarding experience for me to work with such dedicated and enthusiastic people.
I am sure you will enjoy the fruits of their efforts at this performance.
