Dr John Haygarth - pioneering doctorH Dr. John Haygarth, 1757 to  1798, -  one of  first doctors  to use innoculation, pioneered sanitation,scientific nursing and implemented rules  to isolate  infectious patients.  Colonel Humberston   - Chairman of the Chester Infirmary Board for 25 years. R Mr. Robert Roberts, - distributed a pamphlet amongst the governors suggesting better training for doctors.  Mr Griffith Rowlands -  one of the most renowned of the early surgeons. Captain Francis  Rigby- Chester Royal Infirmary ward endowed in his memory 1917.  .
S E. M. Sneyd-Kynnersley, Chairman of the Board of Management in the 1920’sDr. William Stratford. his 1753 legacy of £300 was the beginning of a process that led to the opening of a hospital in 1756.
Dr. W. M. Thackery, 1798 to 1827, founded Infirmary library. Mrs R.Tidswell = 1903 Chester Infirmary Outpatients Department and operating theatre built with her £600 donation. Richard Tidswell. M.A. of Bank House. Heswall - Chester Royal Infirmary theatre was enlarged, reconstructed and furnished in his memory  by his wife in 1904  .Mrs. James Taylor, provided Chester Royal Infirmary with a new  operating theatre in memory of her husband, James Taylor FRCS .JP one of the Infirmary’s honorary surgeons. He was connected  with the Infirmary for 40 years.
