Hutton Cricket Club has over the years held matches for the Essex C.C.C. Beneficiaries. In all we have held 11 such matches
at our Polo Field Ground the first in 1947,the last in 1986.Here are some brief details together with some photo’s from those
memorable occasions. Also included it a replicated scorecard from Tom Wades Benefit Match back in 1948.

The Crowd - 1951


These Benefit Matches were always well attended as this picture shows.The 1986 match which pitted Keith Pont's XI against Steve Davis's Matchroom XI pulled in some 4,000 people and had one Essex Player remarking that we had a bigger crowd on that day than Essex got for most Sunday League Matches.
