On Friday before lunch Hans and me have Mechanics of Materials. This particular day it was Übungen (Exercise) which means you have to write non-stop the whole time. After the class we went to the mensa to eat and I tried the dessert Germknödel after main course Cor Don Bleu (most German people in the mensa only ate the desset... big dessert, but still... strange people). Anyway the food and the dessert was really good and happily we continued to the MPA building where we on Fridays can ask questions about two of our courses (Mechanics of Materials and Engineering Materials). As we approached the building we realized that the building probably is the highest one in Uni-Vaihingen and we decided that if it was possible we would take a look from the top floor, after we had had our questions answered. So eventually we took the elevator to the top floor and to our joy we found a door to a balcony that surrounded the whole floor, apparently this was the case on all floors. The balcony apparently hadn't been used in quite som time though (as you can see on picture seven) and somebody in an office looked really angrily at us, probably the first time he saw someone outside his window. After walking round the floor we realized that where the elevator stopped you could continue upwards with the stairs to the roof. From the roof you could then climb a ladder to the very top roof in the centre of the building (as you can see in the video), there we however found that we could have taken some other stairs all the way. From the roof we also spotted another high building which we went to afterwards. Unfortunately this was a power plant and the stairs were locked with fenced doors so we had to settle with a couple of "forbidden"-signs before we went back to Stuttgart. |
