When I am writing this it is more than two months since we went to Nürnberg, but for myself and for you I will try to remember for a resumé. We met up around 10 am in Hauptbahnhof for the train trip to Nürnberg and to the Chistkindlesmarkt there (A very famous German Christmas market). Also, Raquel was meeting her friend Elena who are studying in Nürnberg. As usual when going on a trip with the other exchange students I was tired, because I had been out the night before. To my disappointment my two friends, who I the night before talked into joining us on the trip, didn't arrive. I was tired alone thus. Anyway, with Schönes Wochenende-ticket we were able to go to Nürnberg without changing trains and it (only) took us three hours. After my McDonalds breakfast I spent the whole trip playing some strange but fun Chinese card game. We met up with Elena at the railwaystation at about half past one and then headed for the Christmas market to find somewhere to eat. Soon we found a resturant and in there actually another group of exchange students from Stuttgart who had arrrived with an earlier train. For lunch we all had the traditional Nürnberger Rostbratwurst (picture16) which actually tasted quite OK dispite what it looked like. After lunch we went to the old castle and then returned to enjoy the Chrismas market during the evening. The market was really something, it was totally crowded by people from all over the world (...even Swedish people!!!). Everywhere was sold burned almond, fruits in chocolate and all kinds of trinkets. After spending several hours in the throng we said good bye to Elena and went back with the train to Stuttgart where we arrived some time before midnight. |
