OK so this is not the most exciting bit but you have to know what's what. If you have any queries about this page or the schedule, please contact one of the members listed on the contacts page. 

CONSTITUTION

The Society shall be known as the INVERURIE AND DISTRICT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The funds of the Society shall be vested in the names of the Treasurer and Secretary (see contacts list).

No alteration or addition can be made to the constitution, unless by sanction of the majority of members present, proposed alteration to be handed in writing to the Secretary fourteen days previous to the General Meeting.

RULES

The Exhibition is open to all members of the Society.

The Annual Subscription is £2.00 for Open Class and £1.00 for Senior Citizens and youngsters (up to fourteen years) free, and must be paid by 31st August 2007. For this subscription, members are admitted free to the Show.

All exhibits are to be bonafide property of the exhibitor, and be in his or her possession two months before the show.

The Committee may empower any of their members to inspect any intending competitor's garden after receipt of the Entry Form.

The whole prizes or awards to be decided by the judges, who shall be practical gardeners, and in the event of any dispute arising the Committee's decision shall be final and binding upon all exhibits. If there are less than three entries in any one class, only second and third prizes may be awarded. Points awarded, 5 for first, 3 for second, 1 for third.

Competitors will provide an envelope for each exhibit and will place a card inside the envelope containing the class number and name and address.

No specimen or article is to be removed by any member exhibitor until 4.00 p.m. Removal card to be shown.

The Hall will be open to receive exhibits from 6 p.m. to 9.30.p.m. on the evening prior to the Show and from 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 a.m. on Show Day. As far as possible, Exhibitors are requested to have their exhibits staged on the Friday night. The Exhibition will be open to the public at 1.30 p.m.

The Society will not be responsible for damage to plants, etc. during the Exhibition, but all reasonable care will be taken of them.

Power is given to judges to withhold a prize if they deem the exhibit not worthy, and to award an extra prize in cases of outstanding merit.

Exhibitors should complete the relevant page in the schedule to claim the prize money due. This will be paid at the Show between 3.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m.

It will be open for anyone to lodge a protest with the Secretary, in writing, before 4 p.m. on the day of the Show, each objection or protest to be accompanied by a deposit of 50p which will be refunded if the objection is sustained.

Exhibitors must return to the Secretary the Entry Form three clear days before the Show with the number of entries marked thereon. This Rule must be strictly adhered to (either print out the page off the site or obtain a copy of the schedule from one of the contacts listed).

All trophies not won outright must be returned to the Secretary by 1st September 2007.

Trophies will be presented at the Annual Presentation Dance on 13th October 2007 and must be collected either by the winner or someone delegated to collect trophies by the winner. No trophies will be handed out after the dance.

The Annual General Meeting will be held in the Royal British Legion, Inverurie on Thursday, 22nd November 2007 at 7.30 p.m. prompt.
