Newsletter Gradings 12th November 05 Today was the first ever grading for students under the club style name Seyah Kickboxing. On the panel today where Brian Barnes 4th Dan Cobra Kickboxing Phil Chadwick 1st Dan Cobra Kickboxing / FMA and myself. The gradings started at 3:30pm and first up where the white belts working towards yellow belt, understandably nerves where high but all students kept focused as they went through each technique. Following on from that the coloured belts pushed and pushed showing a high standard through out As the students instructor I was the one who hit students hard on markings giving scores lower than the other instructors this was because I know my students capabilities and any sign that they where slacking off was jumped on. At the end off the grading all students where called up to do 2 minutes sparring with a few of the higher grades having to stay up and continue fighting. A surprise was in store for Student Sarah-Jayne Hayes when Brian Barnes put on his fighting equipment and pushed Sarah-Jayne for 3 minutes under full contact rules. Gradings finished just after 6:30pm, I am please to say that when all the scores where added together all students passed their gradings with very respectable scores with most students achieving over 60%.
