Take one flute and piano playing solo artist, throw in a pair of freelance fiddles and top off with liberal amounts of French-Canadian tenor banjo tunes. Chop up four potatoes and stir in with the occasional song, season with some guitar, bouzouki and accordion accompaniment, and bake for 30 minutes at 450 degrees.

The result of this harrowing recipe would be something akin to Garton's Crimson Avengers, a pan-Celtic Canadian folk group of epic proportions. Consisting of Joanne Garton, Nicholas Williams, David Clark and Michael Ayles, the group combines influences from more countries than it collectively has toes and skillfully gets the feet of the masses moving with its patented acoustical rhythmitude.

On those rare occasions when all four members are in the same time zone, GCA delivers a great concert or an energetic night of dancing, and all the work is guaranteed for 3 years or 45,000 km. While you'll not likely see them in concert any time soon (since they have difficulties in keeping all four members on the same continent) you can get a taste of what they have to offer by heading to the music section, where many flavorful tunes are just waiting to be downloaded. Or will be, once we've found a place to host them.

If that's not enough, check out the official GCA CD, Live in Gould. You can also get a hold of us by emailing Mike, who will glady help you in any way he can.
