The NORAID Myth.

The NORAID Myth

A picture glorifying the IRA. The bravado this picture attempts to portray, masks a litany of pain and suffering – The reality of terrorism.  If this was a real war as Noraid claims, then the terrorist sponsors would have been convicted of multiple war crimes against the innocent.

The classic argument of Noraid is that they are fighting a colonial war to get the English out of Ireland. To the Ulster people who are the victims of Noraid violence it appears incredible that Noraid activists would be so naïve as to actually think that they were English. Are they so naive?  Or do they call the Ulster people, 'English' in a clever twist to explain their presence as a force of occupation in their own country?  This may be the case, but there is also a third explanation.   Noraid use the term English not only to describe the Ulster-British people, but many Noraiders actually believe that the Ulster-British people are the puppets of the English, in effect slave-bound to England.  In their twisted logic they believe that by destroying the Ulster-British identity and breaking the people that they are freeing them from English rule.  They kill, maim and terrorise the Ulster people and have the affront to claim they are acting on their behalf.  This level of fanatacism illustrates the twisted depths to which many in Noraid have plunged.  The logic stems from the IRA's Marxist sympathies.  In order to justify killing the Ulster-British and claiming they are a colonial force they had to use Marx theory of ideology to explain that the Ulster-British people were in fact zombie like puppets of the colonial regime.

A blatant lie! The IRA kills the Ulster people telling them they are an obstacle to a United Gaelic Ireland and therefore peace. The English are not in Ireland; only the Ulster people who are the victims of Noraid.

Propaganda and image is all important to the terrorists. It is essential for the IRA to justify their terrorism through groups like Noraid to ensure the money and logistics for violence is forthcoming. Few will forget Gerry Adams and others regurgitate the standard platitudes for every latest propaganda embarrassment i.e. mass terrorist killings such as the Enniskillen bomb (pictured below). Noraid are a key tool in the IRA propaganda machine they act to hide the true horror of the terrorist crimes, instead portraying the murderers in a romantic smokescreens as freedom fighters and heros.  Their websites and publications have a noticeable absence of pictures or descriptions of armed IRA men, bombed targets or unidentifiable mutilated bodies. The true horror of the violence they unrepentantly espouse is well hidden.

The necessity of spin-doctoring is shown vividly in the manipulation of this childs playtime to justify murder, terror and intimidation:

The pictures Noraid never show. This picture shows Enniskillen’s townsfolk fleeing from an IRA bomb attack on their town. On this occasion eleven people were killed as they gathered at the war memorial for the annual act of remembrance to the dead from the town in the two World Wars and other 20th century conflicts.
