  Copyright piracy alert....

Don't buy this CD-ROM!

A Netherlands-based organisation, Argus Foundation, is advertising a CD-ROM for sale, containing (among other books) the two-volume work "Freemasonry Universal" by Henderson & Pope. No permission was sought, and the action is a flagrant breach of copyright.
Brothers Henderson and Pope laboured for five years to create "Freemasonry Universal" (with the help of many other brethren), and they earnestly hope that no fellow-Mason will countenance this theft of intellectual property by purchasing a pirated version of "Freemasonry Universal".

Appropriate action to defend this copyright has been started.

  Masonic Exhibition in Germany

Exhibition: "Secret Society: Weimar and German Freemasonry."

This new exhibition at the Schiller Museum, Weimar traces the origins of Freemasonry in Germany all the way up to the formation of the Weimar Masonic Lodge (the first lodge in Germany was founded in Hamburg in 1737) and its turbulent history at about the time Johann Wolfgang von Goethe applied for membership in 1780.
This exhibition captures the mood at the time and explores the rich symbolism, ritual and theory of the Craft in a sympathetic and instructive way.
Until Dec. 31 in Weimar's Schiller Museum, Germany. The catalogue is published by Hanser and costs euro 29.90

Ian Xel Lungold: The wisdom of the Maya

The Mayan Calendar Applied
by Ian Xel Lungold

The Sacred Mayan calendars have over the last few years gained more and more of people's attention around the world.

Possibly this is a consequence of the all too human tendency to focus on impending catastrophes such as was imagined at the turn of the century which we all just went through. The Mayan calendars are due to come to an end soon and this would be reason enough to set some to worrying. I personally believe there is a much larger reason for this increased attention. The Mayan culture has had its allure for people from all over the globe. We are fascinated by the method and attitude in which we believe they lived, in a special harmony with all of nature. In a way, somewhat removed from the physical world, living half in magic and treading very lightly on the earth.

  Featured Master

Featured Master: Abulafia

(Abraham ben Samuel Abulafia, 1240-92)

Abulafia believed that those who understood the Cabala posessed the secret of 'primordial language' and therefore held the key to the secrets of the past. Abulafia taught that it was therefore possible to be your own Messiah - not the kind of thing the Pope would want to hear! Read on....

Green Man at St. Peter's, Barton

Green Man at St.Peter's

Unusual "death's head" Green Man
You'll see him all over England, sometimes in Wales, Scotland and Ireland and very occasionally further afield - he's Green Man. Like the life-cycle of the leaves around his head, Green Man represents the god of death and resurrection of the ancient Britons, closely linked to the agricultural seasons. Here are photos of just some of the Green Man carvings in St.Peter's church, Barton Upon Humber, North Lincolnshire, England. The church is owned by English Heritage and is open to the public

  First visit to Rosslyn

Post your comments!

Driving around the Scottish capital of Edinburgh on the bypass, I just couldn't resist a good look at the enigmatic structure I had seen and read about so many times before in books and on TV. Before I knew it, I had taken the route signposted "Rosslyn" and was well on my way on the short drive to the village. Funny how the mundane world doesn't dovetail nicely with the mysterious Rosslyn Chapel - the hypermarket and the industrial area somehow brought my excitement down to earth with a bump. A bigger jolt was to come, though - I didn't know that the Rosslyn Chapel wore a protective metal jacket! (see photo)
