Coprolite

Ichthyosaur or Pleisiosaur Coprolite.

This coprolite was one of the first fossils we found at Aust. Examining the piece you can see the black shiny remains of fish spines and scales. Most of the rocks from the Bone Bed have pieces of coprolite within them.

Chlamys clam and Rhaetavicula oyster

Fossils of the clam Chlamys and oyster Rhaetavicula from the Lower Jurassic rocks are abundant at the bottom of the cliff, it is however difficult to find a complete specimen free of matrix.
