Promicroceras planicosta

Promicroceras planicosta

This fossil was found on the beach at Lyme Regis. I was looking for a limestone nodule with the telltale signs of crystalisation along a seam. After picking up what must have been hundereds of stones I eventually fell lucky, with one good crack of the hammer this specimen was revealed.

Below is a specimen called Parkinsonia dorsetensis which was another donation from our relatives in the nearby village of Netherbury.
