Crinoid stems
Another common find in Lyme Regis and Charmouth are the stem
segments of the "Sea Lily" or Crinoid. As you can see, those pyritized specimens have fascinating patterns over their faces.
These are the fossilised fronds of the Crinoids, the centre specimen is pyritised.
Below is a complete specimen from the local area (unfortunately not in my collection!) to give you
an idea of what the whole animal looked like.
