Buffy
has been named the worst TV show for families in American, a recent Parents Television Council
report said.
The show was condemned for having graphic violence, sex and occult elements.
Other forwned-upon programmes include Friends and CSI: Crime Scene
Investigation, while families-friendly shows included The WB's Smallville,
7th
Heaven and Reba.
One family-approved show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, deals primarily on the
occult but escaped because of the magic being used positively. A Channel 4
programme on teen witches airs this Tuesday at 11.05pm is said to accuse Sabrina
and Buffy of being bad influences on today's teens but is dismissed by reviewers
as a, quite literally, media witch-hunt.
