In a recent interview with zap2it.com creator Joss Whedon admitted he never tires of fresh faces and unknown actors. "I only hire incredibly talented people with no experience," says Whedon, "so I don't have to do a lot of work. Believe me, I've hired a lot of people with a ton of experience who couldn't walk through a door. I've been lucky."

This has been true with all three of his shows as Nicholas Brendon, David Boreanaz, Andy Hallet, Amy Acker and Firefly's Summer Glau are all stars will little-to-no past experience yet are now some of the shows' fan-favourites.

"In the case of Amy, I had to screen-test her to be sure, because I had made mistakes before. I had seen people that I loved in the room, but on film, I didn't get quite the same energy." the hard working creator said. "So I wrote a screen test and shot it with Amy, and it was clear that she was the one."
