Pressing the "you are here" button shows something like the following message box:
It shows the current active directory off of which the algorithm for listing files and folders will begin listing files and folders. Think of it as a kind of root directory. There are 4 ways to modify the root directory used. First, click on the file menu and go to the open dialog. When you click "cancel" the current active directory will be wherever you "left off" in the open dialog. Second, third and fourth would be the "parent", "workbook" and"cell" buttons.
