John O’Groats to Lands End Cycle Ride 27th August – 3rd September 2005 In aid of
Sometime during Autumn of 2004 I decided I needed a bit of a challenge to focus my cycling. I know through experience that unless I have something to aim at, my training gets a bit lax and my fitness falls apart. For 2004 my aim was to climb Alpe d'Huez in the French Alps but 2005 needed something a bit special. As I'd never been to Scotland I somehow stumbled upon the idea of riding the "End to End", normally taken from South to North due to prevailing winds. Unfortunately I'm not that good at following advice so North to South or John O'Groats to Lands End (JOGLE) it is for me.
Having decided that I was definitely going to do this ride it was only a small step to move it on a step into a charity ride. Actually deciding on which organisation should benefit was pretty easy. I'm a registered donor for the Anthony Nolan Trust so it was only natural that they should be the designated recipients of any money raised.
As you've taken the time to read this far I'm sure you're interested in what, why or how I'm doing what I'm doing. I'd really appreciate it if you could show your support by sponsoring me in some way, no matter how small. Remember, every penny I earn through this ride will go directly to the Anthony Nolan Trust.
