ALEXANDRA MARGARET SCOTT (b. 1867)

(Position 20 vii on the Genealogy Report.)

Alexandra was born at Blairmore on 25 June 1867.  Her father's occupation was given as grain merchant, and his usual place of residence was stated to be 2 Great Kelvin Terrace, Hillhead, Glasgow.  It can be seen from the Glasgow Post Office Directories that the Dunlop family were the sole occupants of 2 Great Kelvin Terrace.  It can also be seem from the same source that Thomas's business address was 249 Argyle Street, and that he was described there as grain and flour merchant.  249 Argyle Street was also occupied by John Craig, corn porter; Thomas Buchan, brass founder; Thomas Donald com[mercial] factor; David Semple, grain merchant; John Leek, photographer; W Borthwick; Henderson, wholesale stationer; and a Mr Walker.

Alexandra married Thomas Purdie on 23 June 1904 in Glasgow.  Alexandra died in Aucheneck, by Drymen, about 1958.  Thomas also died at Auchenck, but it is not known when.

As far is known, Alexandra and Thomas had no children.


JANET AGNES SCOBIE (b. 1873)

Janet who, it seems, was known as Jenny, was born at 3 Alfred Terrace, Hillhead, Glasgow, on 30 September 1873.  3 Alfred Terrace was the latest family home, and Thomas's business address had been 5 Corn Exchange Buildings since about 1868.

Jenny married Thomas Chalmers McGuffie, a timber merchant, in Glasgow on 31 March 1898.

Jenny and Thomas had five children: Thomas (b.....), John (b.....), Chota (b.....), Jane (b.....) and Kenneth (b.....).
