Margaret Garret Dunlop, the older of Thomas's two sisters, had one son, William Dunlop. William was born at Maitland Street, Helensburgh,
on 30 December 1859, when Margaret was 26 years of age. He is known to have worked with Thomas Dunlop & Sons as a flour salesman until 1905
and that, like his cousins Thomas and Robert, to have served in the 1st Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers. He married Jessie Leishman Campbell, the
daughter of John Campbell, a Doctor of Medicine, in Glasgow on 10 September 1907. (It might also be noted here that Jessie was a first cousin
to Maggie Le Mesurier's mother.) William and Jessie had one child in Scotland, Margaret Frances Campbell, born in Glasgow on 23 August 1908,
before migrating to Canada in 1912. It is believed that William and family arrived in Toronto on 1 March 1912, and that Jessie gave birth to a
second daughter on 21 April of the same year. William's first job in Canada was as a salesman with the Robin Hood Mills of Moosejaw & Calgary, and
about a year later he was town salesman in Toronto with the Canadian Cerial and Flour Mills. William wrote to his cousin Thomas in August 1913,
from 167 MacDonnell Avenue, Toronto, with all of his news. It is not known when William died, but it is understood that Jessie survived him, and that
the couple had only the two daughters. Margaret Garret died on 28 May 1905, at 29 Stanley Street, Glasgow. (My thanks to Robbie Dunlop and
Maggie Le Mesurier for this information.)
Hannah Stirling Dunlop, the younger of Thomas's sisters, married John Edgar in Glasgow on 20 September 1861. John was 26 years of age, and a
carter. Hannah was aged 22 years, and a power-loom weaver. Hannah and John are known to have had three children in Scotland before
migrating to Canada: Rebecca, born 8 August 1864, in Glasgow; Mary, born 21 March 1867, in Glasgow; and William Dunlop, born 30 August 1869, in
Glasgow. The couple appear to have migrated to Canada about 1870, and are known to have settled in Victoria Harbour, Simcoe County, Ontario.
It can be seen from the Canadian census of 1881 that they had at least four more children in Canada: Jane, born about 1874; [Dilhinah],
born about 1875; Ann born about 1878; and Thomas, born 3 December 1880. John died in Victoria Harbour on 8 July 1913. It is not known
when Hannah died, but it is known that she survived John. (My thanks to Robbie Dunlop and to our kinsfolk in Ontario, Canada, for this
information.) (Supplenentary note: Rebecca Edgar married Parry Strickland, a 23 year old mill hand, in Victoria Harbour on 28 December 1881.
Thomas Dunlop Edgar married 18 year old [Anne] Wilson in Victoria Harbour on 8 November 1905. It is thought that one of the other Edgar
girls married a boy called English, and that yet another of the Edgar girls married a boy called Carmichael.)
