Winamp is a free and versatile CD and MP3 player you can download it here...
The original Winamp interface is a bit boring, but it can be customised with a skin.
The skins on this website are the "Classic Skins" which were originally designed for version 2+ of Winamp.
The latest version of Winamp, Winamp 5 supports both Classic and New Skins, so you can continue to use your favourite Classic Skins.
For your convenience, the skins on this site are compressed WSZ files.
Download the file then, double click it and Winamp will ask if you want to install the skin, click yes and it will be automatically installed.
To change Skins, while Winamp is running press ALT + S which brings up the Skin browser, a list of all the skins that you have installed.
Some people have emailed me, saying that when they do this the file is unzipped rather than installed. If that happens...
Either rename the file from zip to wsz
Or Try this...
Download the file again, by right clicking on it and from the menu that appears select Save target as....
Choose somewhere to save the file, such as your desktop.
Right click on the file and the top option on the menu should be Install, if not that means you have different settings on your computer which means Winamp is not associated with those files.
Run Winamp and press S whilst holding down the ALT key. You will see a list of the Winamp Skins you have installed on your system.
On the top right hand side is a button "Set Skins Directory"
Click that and it will show which folder the skins are in, if you copy the Skin file that you just downloaded into that folder, Winamp should be able to read the skin.
As long as you copy the file to that folder, the next time you open the list of the skins(ALT + S) the skin will be there and you will be able to select it.
To see the hidden message type Nullsoft.
After each L press escape, and you need to type quite fast...but the message will appear on the titlebar... if there is one.
I use a programme called SkinAmp to start off, then I edit the bitmaps in Paint Shop Pro and I use Cursordance to make the cursors.
I have also used Quickskin (The website is no longer online, but you may find a download via Google)
Why don't you have this or that skin?
Some pictures don't always translate well to skins, but if you have a request please ask.
