The British Kune Kune Pig Society

The British Kune Kune Pig Society is responsible for the registration of the pigs and piglets for breeding and maintaining the Blood lines. It is not necessary to register your pigs with the Society unless you intend to sell your pigs for breeding purposes and a Pedigree certificate is required.

Further information on the Society, the costs and the benefits of joining the society can be explained by contacting the Secretary and Registrar of the society.

It is advisable to join the society, which costs £10.00 per annum. When joining you should register your herd prefix as it is free at that time.

At regular intervals the society will send you a newsletter together with a stock list of piglets for sale

The aims of the British Kune Kune Society are to promote the welfare and breeding of the Kune Kune pigs in Britain, to give help and advice to owners and to produce a herd book.

To keep pigs, you must obtain a Holding Number from the Government Agricultural Department and your Holding Registration Document. The local government Trading Standards Office are responsible for all movement documentation and you must maintain a record movement logbook and details of marks, identification of all your pigs. The National Farmers Union have details on all the requirements.
