In our little corner of the world....

Robert and I live in a bungalow  in a small village  near Guildford  called EFFINGHAM. About  15 miles from Heathrow Airport  and about 20 mile from London. "Effingham Als Yffingham so called from one Aeffing (i.e, ye son of Yffe) a Saxon to whom (in all probability) it was given by Ella, the first King of the South Saxons about the year 493 or after, and had there his Ham, i.e, house  or habitation." These extracts are taken from a small pocket notebook - 3 11/16 inches  X 3 inches (now preserved in Little Bookham Church) which was used by successive Vicars of Effingham in the late 17 th and early 18th centries. The notebook was found by Mr. John Harvey, F.S.A ., in the safe of Little Bookham church in 1945 when he lived in that village. He transcribed it, found it related almost entirely to the parish of Effingham and replaced it in the safe where he found it, with transcript and notes, a copy  of which he gave to the Leatherhead & district History Society. This copy  was  discoverred by the Writter in 1969 and recognised as the possible source of some of the information referred to by the Surrey Historians, Manniing and Bray, who published a massive history of the county in1804/10.

My hobbie's,  all my time is taken up with the dogs but I enjoy using the internet  and receiving mails from all over the world  where its good to make friends and talk to people who enjoy the same hobbie with the dogs.

Robert  and I have owned pedigree dogs since 1976.

Our first breed was Yorkshire Terriers as pets. Then we looked for a breed to show, and in 1979 we bought our first Bichon Frise bitch.   Bichons are a non moulting breed the colour is white only with black pigmentation on face, nose, eye rims and  pads. They are a very friendly, happy, sturdy, lively little dog that make excelent family pets, and measure between 9 inches and 11 inches from shoulder to floor. They need daily grooming and bathing about every 2 weeks with a visit to a parlour for trimming and bathing every 4/6 weeks.

We have been breeding, showing and grooming our Bichons now for 20years, in that time have made up
