| There have always been children on and around the old and the new courses. Whether they were meant to be there is another matter.
Although in the Club's earlier years some children were fortunate enough to enjoy a few holes with a relative, it was not until the early 1930s that boys and girls were granted membership. There was no junior section, however, nor any organised competitions nor a junior committee. |
A Junior Section was eventually formed in the 1950s with the organisation of medal competitions and matches against the senior committee and local clubs.
Encouragement has been given to the juniors by appointed conveners and especially by Scott Barclay and the late George Duncan. |
1986 - Renfrew G C was the first club ever to win both Renfrewshire Boys' and Youth Championships in the same year.
