Dont Rush Things!

When you first get your leopard gecko into your vivarium, be patient! It has only just moved into new surroundings and it
could take up to a week for it to get settled down. It will hide a bit when your in the room and will seem very shy. Just
be patient and in a week it will start to venture out around the vivarium when it feels happy. A tip for taming your leopard
gecko is to keep your hand in twice a day for five minutes. This way it doesn't get stressed and you are not in contact to
scare it away from you.

Be Gentle

Be very gentle with Leopard Geckos, they are extremly delicate. We have already learnt about there defence mechanism so take
your time and be careful.

Don't handle your gecko too much as this builds up its stress. I handle mine for 5 mins a day because when geckos are stressed
they wont eat and can die from stress. So resist temptation of getting it out to show off to guests.

Leopard Geckos are nocturnal and will sleep for most of the day. Don't keep waking them up as this can increase their stress
levels too. Another factor that increases their stress level is too many crickets jumping around the cage while they try to
sleep so remove excess crickets every morning.
