Rated: PG13 - some spicy moments

As the vampire lunged, Willow threw herself at the blonde girl who, only moments before, had been the glistening object of
her vision. Barely able to keep her eyes from the large pools of blue heading her way, she had felt the flicker of electricity
at first touch; the way Tara (was that her name? yeah, she’d said so, Tara…nice name…pretty…) had helped her down the ladder
and held on for just that second longer than both of them knew she should have done. As they had foolishly grinned at one
another and pulled apart, Willow couldn’t help feeling some disappointment at the lack of contact. She’d been only too glad
to find herself next to Tara the next time they plunged into a side tunnel to hide from the creature searching them out. Something
about the way the blonde felt next to her; the faint scent of her perfume and the softness of her touch…she frowned. She couldn’t
remember. But somehow, it felt as though she didn’t need to.

They hit the ground, Tara letting out her breath in a whoosh of air that fled sweetly past Willow’s ear. The redhead tried
to keep herself off the other girl, but the mere velocity of their movement meant that she fell heavily on the body underneath
her, limbs tumbling and entwining together. Tara’s eyes closed tight shut as her head bumped audibly onto the floor of the
tunnel, then she lifted it slightly. Finding the face of the redhead directly above her, her eyes opened, widened at the reflection
in green and then moved backwards as she slowly lowered her head to the ground once more, wondering if the stars at the back
of her vision were wholly due to the bump on her head.

Willow put out her hands but found that scrabbling in the dirt only brought her fingers closer to where strands of fine blond
hair lay on the rough tunnel floor. Without even knowing what she was doing, Willow’s fingers moved closer to where Tara’s
head rested, suddenly the skin on her fingertips ached to feel the touch of that hair.

She blinked.

Suddenly the skin on her body ached to feel the touch of the body beneath her. It hit her like a thousand volt shock, running
from the tip of her nose to tingle its way down where her legs were stretched out on the floor. No, she corrected herself,
her legs weren’t stretched out completely on the floor. Her right leg, that was on the floor, but her left…that was hooked
over a firm, soft thigh that pressed up between her own.

Shocked, Willow shivered slightly, adjusting her position as she lay on top of the blonde. But she didn’t roll off her. A
hand splayed out on her back. Tara’s hand. Holding her. Not letting go; not pushing her off; not moving away… Just holding.
Touching. Feeling. She knew she should feel embarrassed at being in such an intimate position with someone she didn’t even
know, but, her brain thudded, this wasn’t such a bad thing. Not at all.

The shock intensified until Willow was sure her whole body was humming with the very nearness of the other girl. Of Tara.
Yeah, that was right. With the very nearness of Tara.

A pair of blue eyes blinked once, heavy lids closing down once then opening up to reveal a glittering acknowledgement of the
contact. Tara’s hand pressed down onto Willow’s shoulder blade, the tips of her fingers digging in ever so slightly. Harder
than they should. They carried with them a promise of something. A familiarity that resonated in Willow’s brain, echoing down
her body to where her pelvis rested on Tara’s thigh.

Tara knew there was something happening. A vampire or something…some kind of danger? They were running, and then they were
hiding. And then she’d been so close to the redhead who made her feel…well, made her feel that way. The way she knew she always
should feel. Huddled together, she had let her gaze roam over the finely boned features of the other girl more than once.
More than a hundred times, it seemed. The face that was almost imprinted on her mind before she’d ever set eyes on Willow.
A recognition that sparked her emotions and responses, teasing a memory that just wasn’t there. What was the phrase flickering
into her mind? Sense recognition? Where had she learned that? The knowledge was imperceptibly there in her head though. Sense
recognition. A karmic cognitive process that enabled humans to build their perceptions of the world around them and…she frowned
inwardly at herself. How did she know this stuff? And why the heck was she thinking about it now, when all that she knew was
lying on top of her, moving up and down ever so slightly with each breath.

And everything else just faded away. Even now, she knew that there was fighting and noise and danger and…and yet, none of
that mattered. The only thing that mattered was that she was here. And Willow was here. And it felt right. It felt good. It
felt, she swallowed, it felt sexual. Damn, did it ever.

The slight body that lay on top of hers rested comfortably so, as if it had done a thousand times before. Tara’s right knee
crooked up and held Willow’s leg in between her own, almost instinctively. The two firm breasts pushing on her own were a
welcome pressure, their warmth spreading a flush of pleasure that pinpointed itself at the tips of Tara’s breasts. Inhaling,
she felt her nipples harden and tingle a myriad of feelings down her body to the heat that was suffusing between her legs.

Willow shifted again, her thigh pressing more insistently down upon Tara, pushing that seam of her jeans up into the heat.
Into the growing wetness. Was that a smile on the redhead’s face? Tara wondered. Was she feeling it too? Her eyes flickering
shut momentarily, she could hardly help the way her hips were moving up to increase the friction between her legs. Her own
leg found its way up to where Willow was straddling it, returning the gesture. The redhead’s secretive little smile increased
tenfold, giving light to her face, making her twin pools of green fill with a hazy lust.

Is my heart pounding like that? Willow thought abstractedly. Surely someone can hear it. Surely someone’s going to say something.
But whom? In the moment, she was sure that nobody else existed on the planet but her and this wonderful creature underneath
her; this girl that she’d just found, and yet, had been waiting for her whole life. Realizing she was panting, her mouth open
and sweetened with the desire that was racing up and down her spine, Willow looked down to where two full lips parted to send
an unerring question. The tip of the redhead’s tongue reached out slightly to moisten her mouth, preparing herself for the
only answer she had, pounding in her brain almost as hard as her heart was in her chest.

Tara’s hand slid up her neck, trailing a blaze of heat across Willow’s skin, moving to capture a lock of red hair in her fingers.
As their eyes met, and Willow’s hips pressed more urgently downwards again, Tara gave a cautious smile. It was captured by
Willow’s mouth, widened and exhaled. This was okay. No, it was more than okay. It was perfect. It was written in the stars.
It was always meant to happen.

Tara gasped. Half wanting to thrust upwards with her pelvis again, she took in a deep breath, letting the need and want rip
through her, giving herself up to this wonderful creature lying on top of her. Letting the red silk trail through her fingers,
she pushed back vibrant curling strands behind Willow’s ear, because that was where they belonged. She knew that. She wasn’t
sure how, but she just did. Her fingers touched the other girl’s cheek gently, accepting, giving, wanting. Acquiescence had
never been so easy.

Willow’s eyes were firmly fixed on the full lips that now pressed together just once, then opened up again for her. Yes, for
her. Inviting her in, letting her know that this kiss, this touch, this contact was good. Thrilling to the caress, she bent
her head, lower, slowly; god, so achingly slowly that she wasn’t sure how much time had passed. It could have been a second,
an hour, a day; she just wasn’t sure. All she knew was that she needed to have this kiss. Wanted more than anything to feel
the softness of those lips on her own. Closer, she moved, closer… Tara’s hand on her neck was pulling her in just like the
mouth that was parting so gently for her embrace. Just like the blue eyes that were aching for her. Closer…closer…it was like
falling into a deep warmth and softness unlike any other the redhead had ever known. As though some mystical magnet was drawing
them together, pulling them to the points of contact they knew they must make. Closer she moved…closer, ever closer…the heat
was palpable between them, rising up between their bodies, filling their senses, dizzying them with desire and primal need
for one another. Closer…closer still…

And then it hit them.

Lids flicked down over the blue eyes, then opened. And they hardened, turned ice cold with recognition. With memory. With
knowledge.

Roughly, Tara put her hand onto Willow’s shoulder and pushed her off, scrambling away from her. For a moment, she almost put
her fingers up to her lips before she curled them into a fist and looked away, closing her eyes.

The End
