After one of our now legendary leisurely starts we left 'Camping Michaelangelo' for Rome. Although Jonny took the helm initially (as is usually the case) I took over at lunch time and drove the rest of the way. This proved hair raising at times...can't remember if we've told you about the incredible Italian driving but it has to be seen to be believed. The name of the game is get ahead at any cost and, not being a particularly assertive a driver (unlike Jonny 'road rage' Young), people just decided they could cut me up left, right and centre!!!

Luckily we found our campsite very easily. We'd chosen it for the great name - Happy Camping - which kept us giggling for the next few days. What was even more amusing was that the courtesy bus to the metro station was the 'Happy Bus' - a bit of an 'in' joke as our friend Mike always referred to the Land Rover as the Happy Home.
