Garden Design & Construction
Brief: Convert a bare walled site into an interesting garden which blends with the period property and surroundings Picture: The garden before
The site was a large, open, flat and featureless area which was divided into four different gardens by trellis fencing.
The main garden was made into an informal area with a lawn, planting for year round colour, a patio and a gravel path. A pergola leads from the patio to a vegetable garden, raised bog garden and a gravel garden with a stream. Picture: The finished garden The garden was constructed using natural materials, throughout including reclaimed sandstone flags, granite setts and railway sleepers. The owners opened this garden in June of 2001 for charity and
received over 200 visitors.
