The gismu list version of 1994 is the current authoritative version of the gismu list. Unfortunately, many people (and web-sites!) still use the earlier versions.
A simple test to determine if you are using an older version is to look at the definition of cukta (book). The old definition was:
cukta [cku] book
x1 is a book about subject | theme | story x2 by author x3 for
audience x4 preserved in medium x5
[this is a quantity of text, and not the physical object; x2 may be
a convention rather than a subject]; (cf. cfika, prina, prosa,
tcidu, papri)
whereas the current definition is
cukta [cku] book
x1 is a book containing work x2 by author x3 for audience x4
preserved in medium x5
[x1 is a manifestation/container [a physical object or its
analogue] of a work/content, not necessarily using paper (=
selpapri)]; (cf. cfika, prina, prosa, tcidu, papri)
