I started out in amateur radio by helping out with the Milton Keynes Scout Radio group when I was a Scout leader, It was with the Scouts I passed my Novice test and was issued the call sign 2E1ELW. This lasted for all of 2 months, then I decided to go for the big one and do the RAE, but due to work commitments I was not able to get a college course near to my home and had to take a correspondence course, I passed this with two credits, and obtained the call sign of M1AGG. Now I had to find a way to learn Morse, this was when I was introduced to the Milton Keynes Amateur Radio Society, Morse Section. I studied hard and long, with the help of Steve G0GGU, Bill G0TGU and Mike M0AEQ, in fact it took three years due to hearing problems, but I managed to pass and now hold M0BZK. Unfortunately due to the arthritis in my hands I am unable to use a key very fast so I do not use Morse. The station set-up that I have is a Kenwood ts 850 to a multi band ground mounted vertical. I also run  tcp/ip, rtty, psk31 and most data modes. A Icom IC706 mk11 is my main 2m radio. as to antennas I now have 2 hf verticals, 2 2m verticals, a 6m beam and a 2m beam. all in a very small garden. The problem if I move is taking them all down and finding a place to live where I can put them back up.
