Eagles at Llanishen Park!

Once again we have a bright sunny morning! It rained last night but clear skies and the bright sun meant more good weather conditions  await our fine band of lads! After last weeks full squad turn out at Llandaff Fields our managers need to cope with a minor crisis over numbers today with  four fewer players available. This will mean that there will be no selection worries today!  Our hosts at Llanishen Park are our local rivals the Dons who always give us a a good game so the morning looked to be interesting! Old foes Pentyrch and Danescourt will also be putting up a good fight!
Squad for today
Niall, Aaron, James, Michael, Jonathan, Declan, Owen, Hassan,

Results round up
Marlboro Eagles 2 Danescourt  B 1 ( Mike, Niall)
Marlboro Eagles  0 Llanishen Dons  1
Marlboro Eagles  2 Pentyrch 2    (Aaron, Mike)

The crowd go wild after the equalising goal against Pentyrch. Until this moment of obvious joy the Marlboro Crew had been uncharacteristically quiet today!

Eagles Land!

Game 1: Marlboro Eagles v Danescourt B
The lads took complete control in the first half and took a deserved two goal lead into half time. The second half saw a host of Eagle shots just miss the target and Danescourt pulled one back towards the end after a bad defensive error.
Game 2: Marlboro Eagles v Llanishen Dons
Two weeks ago the lads completely outplayed the Dons at Pontprennau where they fell behind to an early goal before replying with three excellent efforts of their own. Today the game started in an identical fashion with the Dons taking an early lead. Unfortunately, despite many chances the ball just would not cross the Dons line and the lads fell to their first defeat of the season to that solitary early goal

Game 3: Marlboro Eagles v Pentyrch.
This game saw the Eagles most disappointing performance of the season. After taking an early lead the lads fell behind to two soft goals following confusion in defence and things looked bad as the game drew to a close. Chance after chance was missed or well saved by an inspired keeper until eventually Mike found the net with a fine goal bringing to life the famous Marlboro Crew on the sidelines. Pentyrch continued to cause problems and almost took the game after pouncing on loose balls in front of the Eagles goal. The final whistle put the Crew out of their misery and they all look forward to next week where things will definitely get better!!
