What a day! The evening before and all morning it poured down leaving Llanishen Park a complete quagmire! However since all the teams turned up after not playing for the last 3 weeks due to similar weather conditions we decided to try and make a go of it! Although the pitch was bad to start we got under way with a match against Heol Hir. Unfortunately it started to rain very heavily and the conditions got even worse! The lads were having a lot of trouble keeping their feet against bigger opponents and the game ended in defeat. Everyone started to feel the effects of the cold very badly in the second match against Capital Trucks and again the Eagles struggled to compete. The third match was cancelled with the agreement of all managers and players as the condition of the field by this stage meant that any semblance of a game was simply not possible. In retrospect it might have been better not to start but the boys were raring to go after being idle for so many weeks. We are due to be at the same venue next week but having seen the state of the grass it is quite possible that the pitch will be unable to recover in time. Let's hope for some better weather soon!
