Band Diary

This is the page where different members of the band will write their thoughts, rants, feelings, news and anything else they feel like writing about.

 9th January 2003:

First practice of the new year and it was a good one.  We have a new track called "Face your fear" which at the moment is my personal favourite with it's exploding chorus and delicate verses.  We are intending to record this track sometime in the next couple of months when the studio has time for us.  "It's you" has been totally reworked now and is loads better than before.  Rich is using a new delay pedal on it and the keyboard sound is changed to accommodate for the loss of Jakes saxophone.  All in all it has an even fuller sound with a clever alteration to look out for entering the final chorus.

The other exciting update is that we are now experimenting with using the 303, seeing what insane psychedelic sounds we can create, and maybe using it on "Face your fear".  Lastly there is talk of doing a cover of "Kick out the Jams".  This week I will be like Roger Waters on 'Live at Pompeii' messing around with all the electric sounds maybe creating my own version of 'On the Run' using the 303.

By the way my favourite shop at the moment is 'Musiczone' in Newcastle-Under-Lyme.  I got Aphex Twin 'classics' for £3! and Black Sabbaths first album for £5!  If you dont own Black Sabbaths first album I suggest you get it because it's in my top 5 albums ever.  Ive got far too many Charlatans albums now as well.

I think Leonard Cohen is indestructable, he is above us all.

Top five albums ever

  1. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
  2. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
  3. Stone Roses - Second Coming
  4. Nirvana - Nevermind
  5. Rage Against the Machine - R.A.T.M

At last thursdays practice we worked on getting all the tracks tight for this saturdays gig at the pig and rat keele uni.  We will probably be debuting the new instrumental track if it sounds ok at practice this week.  As for the 303 I am currently working out how to use it and we should be experimenting with it next week for use on 'face your fear' and the new instrumental track.  Our CD's should be ready any time this week and we will be dishing them out everywhere and selling them to anyone who would like a copy.

28th January

We played an ace gig at the pig and rat.  It was the best we've played for ages.  Now we will be practicing 'face your fear' so it is ready for recording when we go into the studio, which will be soon.  Also we are still waiting for our CD's to come.  We will be sending them out and selling them to whoever wants a copy as soon as they arrive.
